Washington PSR Scores Two Legal Wins for the Environment July 19, 2023

Washington (State) PSR, with key climate partners and their attorneys at Earthjustice, helped secure two climate-critical legal wins. In one, a federal judge denied a request from the natural gas industry to reverse state building code requirements that call for the installation of heat pumps in new residential and commercial buildings. National PSR funds the Washington chapter’s work on heat pumps and Building Electrification. In the other case, a lawsuit challenging Washington’s clean car emissions standards was voluntarily dismissed, protecting crucial policies that will reduce transportation sector emissions, Washington’s largest contributor to greenhouse gas pollution. Congratulations, Washington PSR!
