The invasion of Ukraine underscores the evil consequences associated with the mere possession of nuclear weapons. First, nuclear weapons play into the hands of bad actors on the world stage – even if not used. The United States and NATO find themselves hamstrung in how we can assist the brave people of Ukraine simply because of the mere threat of a nuclear confrontation with Russia.
