The horrifying potential of global nuclear catastrophe December 22, 2024

The U.S. spends billions (calculated to be $98,000 per minute) on nuclear weapons that no one with a sound mind would ever initiate the use of. Just one warhead released by error, intention, loss of rational thought, or computer malfunction would release a barrage of pre-programmed missiles. Before a day was out, the impacted areas of the earth would be rendered smoking radioactive ruins. The huge amount of resultant atmospheric smoke would cause a “nuclear winter”. This would result ultimately in widespread starvation due to agricultural failure. How could we have possibly been so mindless to end up in this situation? Deterrence, i.e. nuclear blackmail, is the discredited myth used to justify these weapons.
