In this chaotic moment of renewed threats to global security and the breakdown of essential diplomatic mechanisms to prevent nuclear proliferation, it is essential to prevent further escalation of nuclear tensions. Last fall, the Trump Administration signaled plans to restart U.S. nuclear weapons testing, and more recently there have been allegations of potential Chinese nuclear tests. The ongoing war in Iran further demonstrates the importance of diplomacy and the urgency of complete nuclear disarmament.

This week, PSR is joining our partners at Back From The Brink and numerous other organizations in calling on supporters to send letters to Congress urging them to block any funding to resume U.S. nuclear testing. We know the risk that nuclear weapons pose to our health and humanity, even when they are not used in conflict. Nuclear testing harms our health and risks further nuclear escalation — two consequences we cannot gamble with now or ever.
