Tell Congress: Defend our climate! July 9, 2024

In recent years, we’ve made significant progress fighting climate change. Under the Biden Administration, we’ve seen the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, the largest investment in climate and energy in history. In addition, a suite of rules have been finalized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to clean up pollution from the most polluting sectors, transportation and power generation.

Unfortunately, this work is under attack by major polluters who are lobbying Members of Congress, taking good policies to court, and trying to sway public opinion in their favor. Members of Congress need to hear from you in defense of our climate.

We need to make sure Congress uses the powers they have to protect our health and climate. Join us in telling Congress they must:

1. Reject Congressional Review Act attacks on EPA rules
2. Ensure climate and energy investments of the Inflation Reduction Act reach communities and are not rolled back
3. Advocate for fair funding of EPA and other critical agencies

We have no time to waste. Some scientists estimate we only have five years to course correct on climate change at current emissions levels. Our communities are experiencing climate impacts already, whether it be unprecedented heat waves, breathing in wildfire smoke, or devastating hurricanes. We must defend the progress we’ve made and keep moving forward to a clean energy future.
