Take Action to prevent energy efficiency rollbacks December 3, 2025

Congress knows a thing or two about inefficiency, particularly this session on the heels of the country’s longest government shutdown. In addition to the 43-day shutdown, the House took an even longer recess and didn’t vote for 54 days. Now they’re back and attacking important programs in the energy efficiency and housing sectors.
The House is gearing up to vote on a suite of building reform and anti-energy efficiency bills that they claim are in the best interest of consumers. Unfortunately, this is just another attempt at deregulation that would eliminate some home-energy rebates, weaken energy efficiency standards, and change the definition of showerheads…
It’s clear that we have issues much more significant than what the federal government deems a showerhead. The cost of living has skyrocketed in recent years including the price of housing and utilities. Weakening our current programs will only raise costs and put the burden on consumers, no matter how efficient they try to be on their own.
Reach out to your Representative and urge them to vote NO on this package of bills. Click the link to see the petition language plus all bill numbers and titles.
