Take action: Strengthen the Good Neighbor Plan! May 13, 2024
This action alert is no longer active
EPA is seeking comments on a proposal to strengthen their regulations on cross-state air pollution. We need to make sure that input from the health community is heard!
This proposal has the opportunity to prevent the onset of asthma, diabetes, and other potentially deadly health impacts for communities downwind from polluters across the country. We need to see this rule finalized strongly and swiftly so that we can all breathe a bit easier.
This proposal, to supplement what is often referred to as the Good Neighbor plan, will target key states that have not yet been able to get their pollution in check. Arizona, Iowa, Kansas, New Mexico, and Tennessee need new plans to decrease their emissions.
We know that air pollution doesn’t respect state boundaries, so while one state may be emitting pollutants, their neighbor is the one breathing them in and suffering the health consequences. Because of this, even if you are not in one of the states that this proposal is focusing on, you are able to submit a comment.
PSR has supported the Good Neighbor Plan for over a decade and we always look forward to improving it when the time comes. Write to the EPA to support their supplemental air plan before this comment period ends on Thursday, May 16th!
