Sustainability & Climate Change for Healthcare Practices: My Green Doctor February 1, 2021

My Green Doctor is a free practice management program offered by Physicians for Social Responsibility. Healthcare offices, clinics, and outpatient centers learn to make gradual improvements in their uses of energy, water, chemicals, paper, and other resources. The program is easy to use, adding only five minutes of Green Team business to each regular staff meeting.

Most offices save money in their first month using My Green Doctor. One five-office group is saving $1,500 per doctor every year, with no financial investment.

Begin by registering at www.MyGreenDoctor.org. Everyone in the office can register. Next, ask your practice to commit to the goal of environmental sustainability and to adding five minutes of Green Team business to each office meeting agenda. Each meeting is fully scripted in the “Meeting-by-Meeting Guide” so that there is nothing for the office manager or director to study or prepare. Your practice will make gradual improvements towards qualifying for the Green Doctor Office Certificate from PSR within a few months.

My Green Doctor provides free brochures, posters, and other teaching tools to help share wise choices with colleagues, patients, and families. This can mean less energy and water used, cleaner air, fewer greenhouse gases, and better health outcomes.

Now available in Spanish, www.MyGreenDoctor.es serves Spanish speaking healthcare professionals and communities.

My Green Doctor is another way that health professionals can address climate change. Register today at My Green Doctor and start saving money as you help create a healthier community. Your practice can do this!
