Planned Giving with PSR

Not necessarily! An estate planning lawyer is highly recommended if you have complex assets or are concerned about your estate being contested, but many wills can be created online – and sometimes free of cost – through FreeWill, Trust & Will, LegalZoom, and other programs. Please check your state’s laws to make sure your will is valid.

In addition to specifying an amount or percentage of your will or other estate plan, you will need our organization’s name, address, and tax identification number:

I give, devise, and bequeath Physicians for Social Responsibility, a nonprofit organization with the federal tax identification number 23-7059731, located in Washington, DC, the sum of $__ (or __% of my estate) to be used for general purposes. 

You can choose to designate a specific amount or a percentage of your will to Physicians for Social Responsibility. Most of our supporters direct their gift toward general purposes or where PSR deems it’s needed most. If you have a particular project that you would like to direct your gift, please contact us to discuss. 

Yes! Many people have chosen to name Physicians for Social Responsibility as a beneficiary of their Individual Retirement Account (IRA), life insurance policy, real estate, charitable gift annuity, trust, or other estate plan. We recommend working with an estate planning lawyer or financial advisor for assistance.
