State planning group: Yakima could be part of long-term airport solution September 24, 2025

Dr. Breck Lebegue of the Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility cited a 2019 University of Washington study finding residents who live near Sea-Tac are exposed to air pollution particles from aircraft that lead to increased health risks of asthma, heart disease and other health problems.
“Considering the health harm from fossil fuel aircraft, I was delighted to hear about the possibilities of electric planes,” Lebegue added.
