Next-Generation Climate and Health Ambassadors Prepare to Graduate May 28, 2024
As the Spring 2024 cohort of our Next-Generation Climate and Health Ambassador program concludes, we would like to highlight some impactful projects our ambassadors have worked on this semester. They include:
- Educational Advocacy: Several Ambassadors are creating age-specific curricula for schools, emphasizing environmental justice and sustainable practices and equipping youth with advocacy skills.
- Community Health Projects: These include educating on the link between environmental health and cardiovascular outcomes, and providing climate-related counseling resources.
- Public Engagement: Initiatives such as workshops for Rhode Island stakeholders aim to develop actionable climate solutions. Other examples include public transportation improvement and waste reduction strategies.
- Medical School Education: Some Ambassadors are working to integrate climate change education in their medical schools to address the direct impacts on human health.
Our Ambassadors also participated in training sessions on How to Write an LTE, the Health Harms of Gas Stoves, and One Health.
