Healthcare Not Warfare National Town Hall Recording November 20, 2024

PSR National along with Washington PSR and Whole Washington hosted a virtual town hall on November 13, 2024 recognizing the importance of healthcare, not warfare, in our country and to discuss ways to take action today. Ā

Discussion following the event included how we approach broad-based networking and collaboration in support of universal healthcare, reaching those affected by the negative consequences of the military industrial complex and for-profit healthcare. Individuals from across the country shared their experiences and concerns with the system in place, and hopes for a future where we no longer waste resources on or profit from warfare, and ensuring access to healthcare. Additionally, hope was shared that future town halls, similar to those which took place this year in Washington state, in local communities could invigorate a broad base of medical professionals to work towards a system more effective at caring for our communities, and justice for American spending.

During the event, links were shared to action alerts promoting the State Based Universal Healthcare Act (SBUHCA) and a Healthcare Not Warfare Coalition initiative to Cancel Sentinel and Cancel Medical Debt.
