Join the 2026 PSR Emerging Leaders Cohort!
Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) is excited to announce our new Emerging Leaders Program for Planetary Health and Global Security. This program is specifically designed for health professional students and early-career health professionals under the age of 35. The program will engage the Emerging Leaders in the work of PSR, helping people by advocating for a better world. The program aims to be inclusive of those engaged across health and medical fields, and encourages applicants studying or practicing medicine, nursing, health sciences, public health, research, or involved in any other sectors related to health or medicine to apply. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply. There is no cost associated with the program.
PSR's selected Emerging Leaders will participate in monthly trainings on topics spanning both PSR National's Environment & Health and Nuclear Weapons Abolition programs, learning about the essential issues and fabric of our work. Alongside the training will be opportunities to engage in PSR's advocacy work, learn from our prestigious membership, and become part of the PSR community.
Program Qualifications:
- Must be a student pursuing any health profession OR an early-career practicing health professional. We welcome physicians, nurses, social workers, mental health professionals, community health workers, public health professionals, researchers, veterinarians, and any other allied health professions.
- Must be under the age of 35.
- Must currently reside in the United States.
- No prior experience in environmental justice or nuclear weapons abolition advocacy is necessary.
Program Requirements:
- Attend a once-a-month, one hour training seminar and discussion via Zoom. Seminars are held on the last Monday of each month at 1pm Pacific Time/4pm Eastern Time.
- Dedicate at least 2 hours a month to the Emerging Leaders program.
- Take part in PSR-directed advocacy actions.
