“Forever Chemicals” in West Virginia Gas Wells March 27, 2024

PSR proudly releases our sixth and final state-specific report on the use of “forever chemicals” in fracking and drilling for oil and gas. This report, focusing on West Virginia, found that the industry shielded most information on the use of toxic PFAS chemicals behind “confidential business information” designations, making it nearly impossible for West Virginians to know where these toxic chemicals are being used in drilling and fracking and in what quantities.
