Is your utility company planning to mix hydrogen and methane to burn in furnaces and stoves where you live?
PSR says, “No hydrogen in the home!” Blending hydrogen with methane (fracked or so-called “natural” gas) increases the risk of explosions and fires.
It would also extend the use of methane, a terribly potent greenhouse gas. This would occur in two ways. First, mixing hydrogen would stretch out the methane supply, locking us into a gas-based system for decades.
And, since almost all hydrogen is produced from methane, it would increase the demand for this climate-damaging substance.
So why are gas utilities around the country pushing just that?
