Join Sacred Heart Peace Community for an observance with song and prayer in conjunction with the 10:30 Mass. Sacred Heart Peace Community, an affiliate of CFPA, will demonstrate in front of the church with the banner announcing the UN Nuclear Ban. Please wear your Nuclear Ban t-shirts. Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Pat Sieber, a long-time Peace activist who will no doubt give a memorable homily. Following Mass those present will be invited to gather at the Peace Monument across the street from the church, and Fr. Pat will say a few words there as well. We will display an anti-nuclear banner and ring the church bell in memory of those killed in the attacks on the Japanese cities. Anyone present will be able to share their thoughts with the assembled people. The ceremony following Mass usually begins at about 11:45 – 12:00 noon, and lasts about 30 minutes.
