Extreme weather season is upon us, and with it the threat of hurricanes, wildfires, and extreme heat. PSR is co-hosting a series of Extreme Weather People’s Hearings in Asheville, NC; Pasadena, CA; and in Phoenix, AZ to call attention to the health impacts of climate-driven disasters, and to push back against the Trump administration’s attack on federal climate policies.

This event is modeled after the traditional listening sessions hosted by the EPA, FEMA, and other government agencies. We are recruiting people who can offer brief testimony (1-2 minutes) to share your experiences with extreme heat, whether that’s a personal story about how rising temperatures are impacting you, or your perspective as a health professional on the impacts you see in your patients and your community. You are also invited to just attend, listen, and offer your support. The People’s Hearing will be open to the media, and at the conclusion of the event, there will be opportunities to connect with organizations working to respond locally and to fight for strong federal climate policies.

RSVP

Are you interested in giving a 1-2 minute testimony? Please email psrnatl@psr.org and we’ll get in touch to talk through the details and get you added to the list.
