Hiroshima-Nagsaki Remembrance Vigil
August 6 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm EDT
Join Back from the Brink CT on Wednesday, August 6th, for a powerful vigil in remembrance of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. The vigil will take place from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Main Street, in front of the Old State House (800 Main St., Hartford, CT).
This event will serve as a call to action, raising awareness about the ongoing threat of nuclear weapons and the urgent need for nuclear disarmament. We will focus on educating the public about H. Res. 317, a critical resolution that aims to bring the U.S. closer to a path of abolition. As the risk of nuclear conflict continues to grow, it is vital that we stand together to advocate for a peaceful, nuclear-free future.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Connecticut’s own Representatives Rosa DeLauro and John Larson, who are cosponsors of H. Res. 317. Their support for nuclear disarmament is an important step in ensuring that the U.S. works toward a safer and more peaceful world.
We encourage all to participate and reflect on the human cost of nuclear warfare while standing in solidarity for a world free of nuclear weapons. Let’s honor the memory of those lost in Hiroshima and Nagasaki by renewing our commitment to peace and disarmament.
