Join us on Saturday, August 9th, for A Hiroshima-Nagasaki Remembrance and Shared Call for Nuclear Weapon Abolition at the Hartford Quaker Meetinghouse, 144 South Quaker Lane, West Hartford. The event will begin with a potluck at 6:00 PM, followed by a program featuring powerful speakers, live music, and poetry at 7:00 PM. We will close the evening by constructing a large, candle-lit peace sign, symbolizing our collective commitment to a nuclear-free future.

Throughout the event, participants will be invited to handwrite letters to their congressional delegation, advocating for support of H. Res. 317 and its companion legislation in the Senate, or thanking Representatives DeLauro & Larson for the leadership in cosponsoring. These resolutions are crucial steps toward reducing the threat of nuclear war and moving us closer to nuclear abolition.

Origami crane kits will also be available, symbolizing peace and hope.

For those unable to attend in person, the Remembrance can be viewed on the West Hartford Community Television Youtube Channel or at www.whci.online.
