Harrisburg Peace Garden Reception honoring Dorothy Grimm
October 16 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm EDT
It’s time again to celebrate the community spirit that led Jim and Sandy Jones and Physicians for Social Responsibility to establish Harrisburg’s iconic Peace Garden. Now in its 34th year, it continues to serve as a gift to the region and a call for peace and good will throughout the world.
This year that celebration will take the form or a reception in honor of Dorothy Grimm, long-time Peace Garden volunteer – and so much more! Born the oldest girl in a family with 12 children, Dorothy has spent a lifetime of hands-on service to others. She married her husband, Glenn, a few years after leaving the convent of the order of the Sisters of Christian Charity, where she spent 13 years. Together, they devoted themselves to myriad service organizations and activities related to their passion for the earth and its people.
