From September 16 – 22, 2024 activists from around the world will join together in a week of action against nuclear weapons spending. This week will highlight ICAN’s annual report on nuclear weapons spending, Surge: 2023 Global nuclear weapons spending.
PSR is hosting a national initiative for our members and chapters to join together in imagining one hour without nuclear weapons, and what sorts of things we could spend our money on instead of these tools of destruction.
Every second, the world spends $2,898 on nuclear weapons. That’s $173,880 per minute, and $10,432,800 per hour.
How could one hour of spending on nuclear weapons affect your community? Your patients? Your life?
