From Hiroshima to Hope is one of the largest commemorations held outside of Japan, occurring every year since 1984. The event will begin at 6:00 pm with lantern preparation, a candle-lit ceremony to honor the bombings’ victims and all victims of war will begin at 8:15 pm. This year’s event includes performances from Seattle Kokon Taiko, a Japanese-American drum performance group, a dance performance by Gabrielle Nomura Gainor, poetry and prose from Seattle writers with the Omoide Project, musical performances on the Koto, and Patrick Johnson will play traditional flute music to accompany the floating lanterns.

Meeting point:
South of Bathhouse, on Green Lake’s northwest shore at West Green Lake Drive and Stone Ave North.
