Equity & Health: Decarbonizing California’s Buildings!
The California Energy Commission Needs to Hear from Health Voices Re: How to Spend $900M on Equitable Building Decarbonization
During May-June, the California Energy Commission (CEC) is hosting workshops across the state to seek input from community-based organizations and stakeholders to help shape its $900M Equitable Building Decarbonization Program. More specifically, folks will have the opportunity to weigh in on the guidelines of the program, the criteria for projects, and how to equitably implement the program.
As health professionals and advocates, your voices are needed to ensure that the program centers on equity and maximizes public health benefits.
PSR-Los Angeles invites you to a Building Decarbonization 101 and Environmental Justice Solutions training. The training will provide you with an overview of what building decarbonization is, how to recognize and avoid unintended consequences, and will inform you about how to advocate for equitable building decarbonization solutions for low-income residential homes.
It is not mandatory to attend the training to participate in the CEC workshops; however, the trainings will provide important information about environmental justice solutions.
