Contact Your Rep: Fair funding for environment & health! July 18, 2024

This action alert is no longer active

Congress is working on the Fiscal Year 2025 budget, but spending cuts could put our climate and health at risk.

The House of Representatives is proposing a 20% cut to the Environmental Protection Agency budget in addition to amendments AKA policy riders that could upend protections for the most vulnerable among us. Contact your Representative today and tell them to oppose H.R. 8998!

Wherever you are, it’s likely that climate change has already had some impact on your life this summer, whether that be through record high temperatures, hurricanes, floods, or wildfires. In the face of climate change, we simply cannot afford to reduce funding to programs focused on environment and health. We must prioritize reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving air quality, and securing a just transition to renewable energy in order to protect our communities and keep our planet livable for generations to come.

The appropriations that we are requesting will fund crucial programs that put health first. The House is planning to vote on this bill next week, so contact your Representative as soon as possible!
