Robert M. McLean, MD, MACP, FRCP

Dr. Robert McLean has practiced rheumatology and internal medicine for over 30 years in New Haven, Connecticut. He has been involved in public policy and advocacy at the state and federal levels his entire career, and, after years in leadership at the American College of Physicians, he served as President in 2019-20. In that role, he was ACP’s liaison to the Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health, subsequently serving as that group’s Steering Committee Chair. He has served on the National Academy of Medicine’s Action Collaborative on Decarbonizing U.S. Health Care Sector since 2021.

He earned his undergraduate degree at Williams College and his medical degree at the University of Maryland, followed by residency training and fellowship at Yale. He is currently Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine. He is President-elect of the Connecticut State Medical Society.
