Mark R. Vossler, MD
Mark Vossler, MD, a PSR member for 35 years, is past president and a board member of the Washington chapter. He also serves as the co-chair of the Washington PSR climate and health Task Force and was an editor of WPSR’s Climate and Health Washington 2022 report. Dr. Vossler studied medicine at University of Rochester. As a medical student he was honored with a research fellowship at the Radiation Effects Research Foundation in Hiroshima Japan. Upon return to the US he joined PSR and has been a nuclear weapons abolitionist ever since.
He did his Internal Medicine residency at University of Vermont, and Cardiology fellowship at Oregon Health and Sciences University where he subsequently joined the cardiology faculty with a clinical interest in heart failure and cardiac transplantation. He left Portland for Seattle in 2002 and helped Evergreen Health start its heart failure treatment program. He served as medical director of cardiac services at Evergreen from 2009-2018.
