“These are not weapons in the usual sense of the word. They’re suicide bombs,” said Ira Helfand, who is co-founder of Physicians for Social Responsibility, which shared in the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize as the American affiliate of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, and is a member of the steering committee of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, which won the prize in 2017.
