Addressing the health threats of nuclear war as United States medical students October 3, 2024

[There] has been a renewed focus on the health risks of nuclear weapons due to the entry into force of the TPNW and increasing geopolitical tensions. IN 2023, more than 150 academic journals published a joint editorial advocating for the need to eliminate nuclear weapons. However, the perspectives of U.S. medical students are currently underrepresented. We argue that medical students must actively address the health threats of nuclear war through advocacy, education, and research.
